Why We Created This Book
Different Minds: A Calming Autism Coloring Book was created with a simple but meaningful intention: to build a space where creativity, understanding, and calm can exist together.
Autism is often discussed in ways that feel clinical, distant, or misunderstood. We wanted to create something different—something human, accessible, and gentle. This book allows people to engage with autism through creativity rather than overwhelm, offering small moments of learning through art.
Coloring is more than just an activity—it can be a form of mindfulness. It helps slow the mind, reduce stress, and create a sense of focus and calm. By pairing calming designs with short, affirming autism facts, this book becomes both a creative outlet and a quiet learning experience.
Who This Book Is For
This book was intentionally designed for a wide and inclusive audience:
Autistic individuals looking for a calming, affirming activity
Parents and caregivers seeking meaningful engagement
Siblings and family members wanting to better understand autism
Educators and therapists looking for creative resources
Adults who enjoy relaxing, therapeutic coloring
Anyone curious about neurodiversity and open to learning
Autism is a spectrum—and so is this book. It meets people wherever they are.
Why We Designed It This Way
One of the most intentional parts of this book is the variety within it.
You’ll find a mix of:
White background pages and black background pages
Simple designs and more detailed, intricate designs
Most coloring books are created for either children or adults—but rarely both. We wanted to create something that could be shared.
Simpler designs allow for ease, comfort, and accessibility, while more detailed pages offer focus, challenge, and deeper engagement. Black background pages create a bold, immersive coloring experience, while white pages feel open and familiar.
This balance allows:
Children to enjoy the book without feeling overwhelmed
Adults to stay engaged without feeling bored
And families to sit down and color together
For children who want to challenge themselves beyond traditional coloring books, this offers a natural next step—without pressure.
The Heart Behind It
At its core, this book is about connection.
Connection to creativity.
Connection to understanding.
Connection to different ways of thinking—and to each other.
Because different minds don’t need to be fixed.
They deserve to be understood, supported, and celebrated.
